Information For New Students
Once you've made your decision to attend Fleming College, you have to plan for all the necessary financial resources you will need to be successful. You are making a valuable investment in your future. The Financial Aid Office can assist you by providing you with financial options.

Step 1
To begin, prepare your budget using the Budget Calculator.
Step 2
Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)
You can apply for OSAP funding as soon as the applications are available - usually around the middle of April or early May of each year. Apply early – at least 10 weeks before the start of classes. Applications for these government-funded loans are available through the OSAP website.

Step 3
Student Bank Loans
These loans vary depending upon the student bank loan program. Interest payments on these loans begin immediately. We encourage you to be a smart shopper – review and compare programs offered by the various banks.

Fleming College and the Fleming College Foundation, along with our generous donors and sponsors, have provided more than $9 million to students in financial need. Check out the numerous scholarships and bursaries available to new Fleming College students:
- First Year Bursary
A percentage of tuition fees collected by Fleming College are allocated towards a First Year Bursary Program for new, full-time students. To be considered for this bursary, complete and submit the Financial Aid Profile mailed with your program offer. Or download the Financial Aid Profile here. Be sure to apply! In recent years, 80% of students who applied were eligible and received a First Year Bursary!
If you are an upper-year student (entering year two or above) at Fleming College please download the Financial Aid Profile to be considered for an Upper Year Bursary or other financial aid.
- Fleming College Foundation
You may qualify for one or more of the many scholarships and bursaries offered by the Fleming College Foundation. Please see the Fleming College Foundation Bursaries and Scholarships page for eligibility criteria and deadlines.
- External Resources
Consider other sources of funding. Consult your high school guidance office, your employer or your parents’ employers, community and professional associations and clubs.
- Academic Excellence Entrance Scholarship
Fleming’s Board of Governors annually awards entrance scholarships to graduate students with the highest academic standing at each of the 28 secondary schools within our extended school board district. The Scholarship provides $2000 towards one year of full-time study (two semesters) at Fleming College. An additional 6 scholarships are awarded to applicants residing outside our extended school board district.

Check out our Fleming College fee payment options, pay your fees or make arrangements for a fee deferral by the due date indicated in your fee letter.
Step 6
If you run into financial difficulty during the academic year:
- you may be eligible for an Emergency Loan
- or, if you are in good academic standing you may apply for assistance through the General Bursary Fund (instead of a loan these funds are non-repayable)
- Information about Emergency Loans or the General Bursary is available through the Financial Aid Office.
Academic and Community Awards
An academic award recognizes the academic and community achievements of students during their course of study with the college. Academic awards are monetary and/or gifts. Students are selected for these awards based on specific criteria.
